Equipment Consultations
With a vast knowledge of all types of equipment, from Musical/Band gear to P.A. Systems and Lighting Equipment, as well as the countless brands and models of each, take the guesswork out of your next equipment purchase or investment by consulting with someone who's been researching, using, operating, maintaining, and buying/selling all types of equipment their entire life. Having spent the better part of 30 years earning a living playing live music, running sound/lights, as well being a backline technician (set up/maintenance/operation of all types of musical instruments), trust the professional opinion of someone who knows which equipment to choose that you can depend on night in & night out. Think of it as being your "personal equipment shopper" and take advantage of a lifetime of professional experience related to all phases of musical/audio/lighting equipment.
The idea for this service really came about by accident. Over the years we've had many friends & business acquaintances ask for help with their own equipment decisions and purchases. We've also had a lot of friends with kids who were just starting out playing, and they wanted someone to turn to (who wasn't a salesman in the music store), who had their interests in mind, not simply what the store has piled up in the warehouse that they're trying to dump on the next unsuspecting amateur. We were asked about this so frequently that we began to see a real need for this type of service. From novice to pro, we'll consult with you about your needs, your expectations, your application, and your budget. We'll research all of the equipment pertaining to your particular situation and present you with options, advice, and recommendations. We'll even go to the store(s) with you and help to personally select all of your instruments & equipment purchases, or we can find the pieces you want using services like eBay or Craig's List. Once all of your equipment has been purchased, we can install and hook up everything for you and we'll show you how to operate it. With an extensive background as a professional backline technician and audio engineer, we can get all of your new gear up & running and get it adjusted "just right" for you in order to get everything playing, sounding, and operating optimally.
Rates are $40hr (with a 2hr minimum) to personally meet and/or shop with you, research your equipment, design your system, or to install, set up, and adjust your gear.
